Pilot Testing Report and Conceptual Corrective Action Plan July 15, 1994
Manna Pro, 4004 South EI Dorado, Stockton, CA 12
test was conducted by extracting groundwater at a constant rate to depress the groundwater table
at the extraction well and measuring groundwater level fluctuations at adjacent observation and
monitoring wells Groundwater-level data was analyzed using computer modeling simulations to
estimate the aquifer parameters and the predicted capture zone for extraction wells Hydraulic
' conductivity and storativity coefficients for the unit were estimated based on curve-matching
techniques These parameters are required for estimating groundwater flow and using numerical
modeling to predict the migration of dissolved-phase hydrocarbons through the subsurface
Additionally, the aquifer test data provide necessary information to evaluate the feasibility and
effectiveness of a groundwater recovery system designed to capture dissolved-phase hydrocarbons
Groundwater monitoring conducted at the site to date indicated that the plume of dissolved-phase
' hydrocarbons lies in the northern portion of the site between monitoring well MW-2 and monitoring
wells MW-8 and MW-9 The newly installed well (EW-1), located within the area of highest
' concentrations, was used as the extraction well during the test Monitoring wells MW-1, MW-3,
MW-6, MW-10, 013-1, OB-2, and OB-3 were used as observation wells
As part of the test, the following measurements were recorded
' The total number of gallons of groundwater extracted,
• Average flow rates,
• Depth to groundwater prior to pumping,
• Depth to groundwater at the termination of the pumping,
• Continuous water level measurements at EW-1 and the 3 observation wells for 48
• hours under static conditions (pretest data),
Continuous drawdown measurements at EW-1 and the 3 observation wells in
response to the groundwater pumping,
' Periodic water level measurements at 4 additional monitoring wells, and
' Radial distances from the pumping well to the observation and monitoring wells
In addition, groundwater samples were collected for laboratory analysis for BTEX, TPH-G, and
' TPH-D from EW-1 during and following the aquifer test
•
' 2e79ao34 opo DEN
GROUNDWATER
TECHNOLOGY, INC
