Teepee Drive, Suite E <br /> Stockton, California 95205 <br /> SUBJECT: Soil Sampling Report For Tank Removal at <br /> Village West Marina, 6649 .Embarcadero Drive, <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr. Messick: <br /> At the request of Westerrr Meter Service,' an EVAX Technologies, Inc. <br /> (EVAX) geologist collected soil samples during the removal of 3 <br /> .underground storage tanks (UST's) at Village West Marina. The site is <br /> located at 6649 Embarcadero Drive- in Stockton, SanJoaquinCounty, <br /> 43 California. This report summarizes the tank removal and sampling <br /> activities which took place on April 21, 1992. <br /> TANK REMOVAL <br /> 40 The removal of the 3 USTs was conducted on April 21, -1992 by Western <br /> Meter Service (WMS) of Stockton, California. The tanks consisted.of <br /> two 10,000-gallon capacity tanks, designated 1 and 2, respectively; and <br /> one 5,000-gallon capacity tank, designated 3. According to WMS, Tanks <br /> 1 and 2 were used to store leaded gasoline and Tank 3 diesel fuel . Ms. <br /> Pamela Violett, an inspector with the Environmental Health Division of. <br /> U the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, supervised the tank <br /> removal and soil sampling procedures. The general distribution of the <br /> tanks is presented in the attached Site Plan, Figure 1. <br /> A visual inspection of the tanks was conducted upon their removal . The <br /> exterior surfaces of the 'tanks appeared slightly pitted and corroded. <br /> 0 Tank 2 contained a small -1/4-inch diameter hole directly beneath the <br /> fill end on the bottom surface of the tank. The tank excavation was <br /> dug to a depth of approximately 12 feet below grade and the excavated <br /> soils and backfill were stockpiled next to the pit. <br /> 40 <br /> -1- <br />
