1 KLE/NFELDER BhgM1t Peopl<.fllgM1l Solutions V 3 ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED i Three on-site monitoring wells/piezometers in the Plant Area (P-1, P-2, and P-3), three monitoring wells in the MARIA south of the plant (W-1, W-4 and W-5), and six monitoring wells in the N/SLAIA located southeast of the plant (L-1, L-2, L-3, L-4, L-5, and L-6) were sounded for idepth to groundwater during the quarterly monitoring event. Nine groundwater samples subsequently collected from these wells were submitted for chemical analysis. 3.1 SECOND QUARTER 2014 FIELD ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED ' 3.1.1 Measurement of Groundwater Levels ' Water level measurements were made in each monitoring well and piezometer at the beginning of the sampling round prior to purging and sampling the wells. The depth-to-water was measured in each well according to the protocol described in Appendix A, Section A-3.5. The depth-to-water measurements were converted to groundwater elevations with respect to mean sea level or a local benchmark by subtracting them from the surveyed top of casing elevations. 3.1.2 Collection of Groundwater Samples ' On June 2 and 3, 2014, nine groundwater samples were collected. The wells were purged and sampled using disposable bailers as described in Appendix A, Section A-3.2. During the purging of the wells the groundwater was monitored for pH, specific conductivity, turbidity, temperature and color. Copies of the monitoring well purging and sampling log are included in Appendix C. The water purged from the wells was not contained. ' 3.1.3 Chemical Analysis of Groundwater Samples Each of the groundwater samples collected for quantitative analysis was submitted under chain- of-custody control to the following laboratories: California Laboratory Services of Rancho Cordova, California. i .
