MKLEINFELDER
will be placed within the pushprobe holes to filter out sediment. The PVC casing will include a
5 to 10 foot 0.010-inch slot screened interval, placed within the water bearing zone, prior to
groundwater collection. The groundwater will be decanted into laboratory supplied bottles
directly from the tubing or disposable/stainless steel bailer.
LABORATORY ANALYSIS
After collection, the soil and groundwater samples will be labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody
form, and immediately stored in an iced cooler. The samples will be transported under chain-of-
custody control to Kleinfelder's office and then transported by courier in a sealed container to a
State Certified Laboratory to perform the requested analyses. A total of 22 four-point composite
samples, 16 discrete soil samples and potentially four groundwater samples will be submitted for the
following analyses;
• Total Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons [C4-C10] including Benzene, Toluene,
Ethylbenzene,Xylenes [BTEX]by EPA Method 8260
• Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons [CIO-C40] by EPA Method 8015M
• Silica Gel Cleanup for extractable soil analyses by EPA Method 3630M
The samples will be analyzed on a standard 10 to 12 working day laboratory turnaround time
(TAT), unless a more expedited laboratory turnaround is requested by the client at an additional
charge.
Task 3 Reporting
Upon completion of the field activities and receipt of the analytical results, a report of findings
for the advancement of the push probe sampling will be prepared for client and agency review.
The report will include:
• A description of the field activities, observations, and protocols
• Lithologic Logs
• Tabulated results of soil and groundwater samples with copies of certified results
• A graphical representation of soil and groundwater sampling locations
• Description and documentation of QA/QC procedures employed for field and laboratory
work
• Kleinfelder's conclusions and recommendations based on the data acquired.
All information gathered during the study by Kleinfelder is considered confidential and will be
released only upon written authorization from the client or as required by law. California law
requires a person to inform the state if a situation is encountered that can be considered an
immediate endangerment to the public's health or welfare and/or to the environment. Therefore,
the client will be contractually bound to make any said disclosures in lieu of Kleinfelder, its
owners, principals, employees or subcontractors.
02001PROP.ENV/ST04P118/DH:ss Page 5 of 8
Copyright 2004,Kleinfelder,Inc.
