PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK PREPARATIONS
A site specific health and safety plan will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and
Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency,
1985).Prior to mobilization, each proposed soil boring location will be clearly marked and an utility
clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert.
r
2.2. Initially, each soil boring will be advanced to
maximum depths of 5 feet bsg. A single soil vapor sample will be collected from each boring at a
depth of approximately 5 feet bsg. Field procedures for advancement of borings and collection of
soil vapor samples are presented in Section 3.1.
Soil vapor samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services(DHS)-
certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Methods 8015 Modified and
• Volatile aromatic compounds(benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,xylenes:BTEX)and volatile
organic compounds(VOCs)Oxygenated compound(methyl tertiary butyl ether: MTBE)in
accordance with EPA Method 8260 (TO-15).
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
