CPT DRILLING AND GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
AGE proposes to drill three CPT soil borings at the southwest section of the site to define the lateral
and vertical extent of 1,2-DCA-impacted ground water. Proposed CPT soil boring locations are
illustrated in Figure 2.
Based on 1,2-DCA-impact encountered during previous investigation at the site,AGE proposes CPT
soil borings in the following locations:
• (P-16) Approximately 30 to 40 feet southwest of well MW-4;
• (P-17) Approximately 25 to 35 feetves of well MW-5R; and
• (P-18) Approximately 50 to 60 feet south of well MW-5R(presuming access).
The CPT borings shall be advanced to depths of approximately 60 to 70 feet bsg (same depth as
screen intervals from wells MW-4 and MW-5R) utilizing a 25-ton truck-mounted CPT drill rig
equipped with 2-inch diameter hollow-stem rods; however, total depths of borings may vary in
response to hydrogeologic conditions.
Grab ground water samples will be collected in intervals of porous and permeable material. Selected
ground water samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services
(DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA)by EPA Method 8260 Modified.
Laboratory reports for ground water analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control(QA/QC)reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with findings and recommendations.
r
2.4. REPORT PREPARATION
Following the completion of the proposed scope of work, a report will be prepared presenting the
findings. The report will include a description of work performed and the results of the soil-vapor
f
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
