This procedure is to be performed by Western Fiberglass trained and
certified personnel only. Only materials identified in this procedure may be used for this
procedure. This procedure may be used on other manufacturer's sumps provided the
materials of the sump have been identified and have been determined to be
compatible with the materials used for this procedure.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Installing the Fitting:
• Mark the placement of the fittings on the sump wall.
• Using a 5/16" drill, drill the spot marked for the port. Use extreme caution to only
drill through the inside wall of the double wall sump. DO NOT BREACH THE OUTER
WALL.
• Prepare the surfaces to be glassed on the inside of the sump wall by grinding
the walls to remove all foreign material and to develop a surface for the
fiberglass and bonder to adhere. Clean the entire surface prepared with
acetone.
• Place a'/4" bead of bonder around the back side of the fitting plate, 1/4" inside
the outer edge.
• Press the fitting onto the inside of the sump wall as marked. Use an ink pen, nail
or a screw to line up the hole in the sump wall with the hole in the port. Wipe off
any excess bonder to make a smooth seal. This is to provide a smooth surface
for applying the glass.
• Glass the stainless steel plate to the wall of the sump using catalyzed resin. Make
sure to roll out the glass for a proper bond and to remove air bubbles.
• Give the glass adequate time to begin to cure before testing or adding liquid to
the sump. The glass must not be able to be dented by a fingernail pressed into
it.
E C' E
E D
Ph: 707.523.2050, Fx 707.523.2046 IV Page 1 of 2
sales@westernfg.com, www.westernfg.com MAY S 1 2018
ENVi 10NNi1E! !AI_
