Integrity testing of all UDCs and repaired sumps per the manufacturer's installation <br />instructions after all modifications and prior to backfill. Brine type verification and brine <br />addition prior to backfill. <br />f. Verification of leak monitoring communication for all installed vacuum, pressure, or <br />hydrostatic (VPH) components including piping, sumps, UDCs, and any chase piping; <br />communication at end point(s) of each vacuum zone termination to demonstrate <br />communication throughout the entire VPH monitored component must be verified. All <br />appropriate connections to facilitate communication testing must be present. <br />g. Verification of the new dispenser footprints contained by the under dispenser containment <br />sumps (UDCs), any potential leaks from piping and fuel filters must drain directly into its <br />respective UDCs. <br />h. VPH components installation verification (vent and STP sump rubber gaskets, etc.) <br />i. Monitoring system functionality: Functionality of the monitoring system must be verified to <br />ensure it meets the requirements of Title 23 California Code of Regulations and the Health <br />& Safety Code. (Functionality of vacuum and liquid "smart" sensors, and brine and liquid <br />sensors in UDCs and vent sump). <br />j. Leak detector test: Leak detectors (87 and 91) must be tested to confirm that the device <br />can detect a leak of 3 gallons per hour at 10 psi. Leak detector monitored line volumes shall <br />be appropriate for the make and model of the installed leak detectors, and shall be verified <br />at the time of installation. <br />k. Primary piping test: Witness tightness test performed by SWRCB licensed tank tester or <br />observe a passing 0.1 gallon per hour test results from the PLLD (if installed) on all <br />modified/repaired primary fuel piping. A visual inspection is required for PLLD tested lines. <br />I. California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) UST installation/modification form shall <br />be submitted for all repairs/modifications. <br />Please be aware that the facility cannot operate the UST system prior to the EHD <br />inspection and approval. <br />4. Any individual performing the work of a service technician must meet the following <br />qualifications: <br />a. Possess or be employed by a person who possesses one of several permissible valid, <br />current contractor's licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board (may be issued <br />to the installation company), or a Tank Tester's license issued to the individual by the State <br />Water Board, and <br />b. Possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically <br />present at the work site who possesses a valid, current California UST Service Technician <br />certificate issued by the International Code Council (ICC), and <br />c. Possesses a valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the <br />component(s) being tested, repaired, or serviced. <br />5. Individuals installing underground storage tank system components must possess or work <br />under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site <br />who possesses all of the following: <br />a. A valid, current contractor's license issued by the Contractors State License Board, and <br />b. A valid, current UST Installation/Retrofitting certificate issued by the International Code <br />Council (ICC), and <br />c. A valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) being <br />installed. <br />2of3 <br />
