'r. ,..... n ' .,sa.'PREMIERE " IM72111A0,1'." ,
,
WOC contracted Western Guo-En,ineers (wEGE) on November 14,1988 to
conduct a full site assessment.
On November 15, 1988, personnel fro; 'SC and WEGE visited the site.
Also on that same day, WEGE consul; i with Diane M. Hinson, R.S. ,
of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Division (PHS/EHD) and prepared '.he necessary work plan and
permit applications to perform on sirs exploratory borings and
monitor well construction.
Under the direct supervision of a WEGE geologist, Hogate
Exploration drilled and sampled three exploratory borings (SB-1,
S$-2, 5B-3) from ground level down to the first ground water
encountered .ee FIGURE 3). Based upon 1) the chemical results of
the ground water and native soil from these borings; and 2)the
ground water direction; three additional on site borings would be
sampled and drilled for the purpose of constructing monitor wells
(MW-1, MW-2, MW-3). These borings/monitor wells were drilled
during the week of December 1-9, 1988. A . complete report, "SITE
ASSESSMENT" dated February1{3
1989 w asnese
p rated to WOC
and the
proper regulatory agencies (PHS/EHD , and Regional Water Quality
Control Board, Central Valley Region (RWQCB-CVR)) concerning these
initial steps of the assessment (Phase 11).
The recommendations included in that report are as :Follows:
1) Obtain the necessary permits to sample , drill, and
( construct seven additional on/off site monitor wells
in order to determine the lateral extent of ground
water contamination.
2) Prior to installing the new underground storage
tanks and clean fill (pea gravel) within the
existing excavation, place a four inch slotted
"PVC" well at the northeast corner of the
excavation. This well can later be used as a vapor
monitoring, recovery, or fluid injection well.
3} As in 2) above, place a six inch slotted "PVC" well
in the northwest corner of the excavation. This
well can later be used as a monitor well for
sensors, floats. etc.
4) Construct a remediation/treatment compound at the
northwest corner of the site with a security fence
and gate.
G
vnre
