v - M_ __
I J' •
Seven more monitor wells (MW-4, MW-5, MY-6, Mw-7, MW-8, MW-9, and
MW-10) were installed off and on site with procedures and sampling
results provided in Assessment Report #2, dated February 23, 1993).
The recommendations of this second report are as follows;
1• Perform an aquifer test.
2. Obtain the necessary permits and authorization to
instetll a ground water recovery system for remediation
purposes and to stop the migration of the contaminant.
3• Conduct a feasibility study for the disposal of
contaminated ground water generated by cle, snu?
operations.
4• Obtain permission to dispose of treated ground water
through the City of Stockton sewer (POTW). Treated
water must satisfy the requirements set forth by the
City of Stockton Department of Municipals
Utilities,
5• Continue quarterly ground water monitoring until water
concentrations meet action levels set for this site.
6. Determine feasibility and locations of additional ground
water moni=oring wells east of monitor well MW-8.
Since submitting report #2, WEGE has performed the May
quarterly ground water sampling and collected data for the Bouwer0
and Rice Slug Test calculations. The sampling results and
calculations are included in this report. In addition, PHS- rte
has reviewed our February 22, 1990 report and agrees that an
aquifer test along with the information gathered from previous
investigations should provide sufficient data to design a
remediation system A plan should be submitted by August 20, 1990.
Also,.,y43 r es <#7o4t7 be
ca n#tQ tal
rphgFu to saisfyecacJosvir„
y» , 4
04} ty,.Ft:bl.icfaZthervi.ces,} 7 viranmenta`1`Mealth Diveon
H0)'8poeia ': Fpd1f'cy} see'A edf A
L•. erm3 .. ( PP )
2.0 GROUND WATER
2.1 REGIONAL AND LOCAL GROUND WATER FLOW
Ground water flow direction in this region is to the west towards
south Stockton from the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain
Ranges, and towards the east from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
At present, encroachment of saline waters from the Delta is
diminishing ground water quality in the Stockton area.
7
