Site inspection, condensate removal and 2 hour venting of MW8 was <br /> performed by Lawrence Tank Testing (LTT) on February 6 , 13 , 21 <br /> and 27, 1996 <br /> 1/31/96 <br /> Unit running on arrival Sample vapors from MW1 , MW2/3 , <br /> MW10, excavation, influent and effluent System set at Oa <br /> air dilute <br /> 2/28/96 <br /> Unit running on arrival Sample vapors from influent and <br /> effluent Effluent tedlar bag sample leaked, no analysis . <br /> System set at 0 air dilute <br /> 3/6/96 <br /> Unit off on arrival System had shut itself off at <br /> approximately 5pm on March 5, 1996 <br /> Scheduled replacement of Thermal Oxidizer (TO) with <br /> Activated Carbon Units Shut off electrical and natural gas <br /> to TO Hook-up carbon units to exhaust of vapor recovery <br /> system. Start-up #2 pump found inoperable . Replace #2 pump <br /> with same model pump, would not start, needs electrical <br /> diagnostic 11 : 00 hours - start system with one pump (DR505 <br /> Rotron Regenerative Explosion Proof Blower) Flow rate was <br /> adjusted to 71 cfm, see section on Flow Rates and Appendix <br /> B, Table of Constants (K) for flow calculations Sample <br /> vapors from influent and effluent of #2 carbon unit <br /> Effluent tedlar bag sample was Chain of Custody (CofC) <br /> delivered to American Environmental Network, Inc (AEN) for <br /> analysis of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) <br /> with BTEX distinction A MinRae hand held photoionizing <br /> (PID) detector was used to field screen the exhaust of the <br /> #1 and #1 carbon units, both were below 0 0 ppmv System <br /> set at 0°s air dilute <br /> The VOC emissions from the TO have never exceeded the 52 lb/day <br /> emission limit for the site No evidence of Tetrachloroethene <br /> (PCE) was found during examination of the chromatograms of the <br /> samples taken to the WEGE laboratory <br /> MONITORING/SAMPLING <br /> FIELD SCREENING <br /> As required under ATC Permit # N-1090-3-1, Conditions 4 . , 9 . , <br /> 10 . , and 17, see Appendix C A Mini.Rae Photoxonizing Detector <br /> (PID) was field calibrated using Isobutylene at 100 ppmv.
