REG 603 UPDATE-6 2/21/92
test >16 MPN/100ml. All other wells wells tested below detection
limits of 2 . 2 MDL/100ml . All wells (MW-2, MW-3 , MW-4, MW-5 , MW-7
and MW-8 ) tested below the detection limits of 2. 2 MDL/100ml from
the January, 1992 sampling.
B. SOIL:
As has been shown in the "Update Status Report, February 23 , 1990"
soil contaminated with gasoline range hydrocarbons exists beneath
the underground storage tank excavation from the 25 foot depth to
top of ground water and at the 40 foot depth to top of ground
water around monitor well MW10 . The capillary fringe area ( 50
foot depth) shows the spread of contaminant out to monitor wells
MW1, MW2 and MW3, see Figure 6B.
C. VAPOR:
VAPOR RECOVERY SYSTEM AND MONITORING
As stated in Update Status Report #5, monitoring wells MWl, MW2,
• MW3, MW10 and the excavation 6 inch (EX-411) have been manifolded
to a vapor extraction system with individuated valved orifices for
flow control sampling and vacuum and flow measurements from the
individual wells. MW2 and MW3 are manifolded together with 2"
tubing Tled at the wells, but can be individually tested by
placing a packer below the extraction T of the well to seal that
well from the vacuum system, see Figure 7 . The individual wells
are fitted with a PVC "T" heads with a air tight cap, for well
access. The "T" lateral (211 ) is fitted with a 1/4" pipe to tubing
fatting for obtaining vacuum/pressure and temperature readings.
Wells MW2, and EX-4" are fitted with a pipe to hose 211 fitting
placed between the "T" and the 2" PVC flex hose that goes from the
well to their individual condensate drop outs that hook into the
extraction manifold. The 3" SCH 40 PVC lateral from MW3 as also
fitted with a 211 pipe to hose fitting where at enters the traffic
box near MW2 and is T' ed to the 2" tubing from MW2 at that point.
MW1 as fitted with a 211 PVC Y to allow access to the well off the
straight leg of the Y and vapor recovery off of the angled leg of
-Wk— V R$,— rr».-- r• —Troyer ri int r.-r rr.m }}Z C r i "+- r1 ceC 7 fGG
4. At this point the PVC pipe drops into the
condensate drop out tank for MWI, prior to the vacuum extraction
manifold. MW10 is manifolded to the treatment compound via SCH 40
PVC pipe underground west towards the store. Once the pipe
reaches the store it connects into a condensate drop out tank
(Approximately 5 gallon capacity) prior to heading over the roof
of the store with 2" galvanized pipe. The condensate tank is
below ground in a concrete lined traffic box. The condensate
PAGE 7
