R603 UPDATE-21 10/15/93
Is approximately 22's . Of the newly installed wells MW11 and MW12,
MW12 has not shown any significant change in benzene
concentrations and MW11 has always tested below detection limits
On August 23 , 1993, a sample of the water being treated by air
stripping inside the "ConVault" was obtained for certified
laboratory analysis, before dumping the approximately 700 gallons
of this cleaned water to the City of Stockton' s sanitary sewer,
see Appendix A.
As of September 29, 1993 , an estimated 21887 gallons of gasoline
range hydrocarbons have been removed from the soil and ground
water beneath this site . Previously removed floating product
(40 . 25 gallons) , condensation from vapor extraction (48 . 75
gallons) , projected petroleum hydrocarbon in situ oxidation CO2
vapor recovery and vapor extraction-destruction of hydrocarbons
(136239 pounds/6 25 = 21798 gallons) No chlorinated solvents
were detected in chromatogram comparisons; 11i.e " 1, 2, -
Dichloroethane (DCE) - retention time 2 . 079 minutes,
Trichloroethylene (TCE) - retention time 3 . 023 minutes and
Tetrachloroethylene (PCE) - retention time 3 . 75 minutes . Also
water sampled from MW1 and MW6 were tested using EPA method 8240
and were below detection limits for these compounds .
5 .0 TIME FRAME
October, 1993 Monthly site monitoring
6 .0 HEALTH AND SAFETY
This site is being treated as a class D site, normal common sense
is to be used.
7 . 0 LIMITATIONS
The conclusion and recommendations presented in this report are
based upon the following
A. The exploratory test borings drilled at the site
B The Bouwer and Rice Slug test
C. The Vapor Extraction Source Test
. D The observations of field personnel
E. The results of laboratory analysis performed by a state
certified laboratory.
PAGE 4
