The use of a hand auger to drill the proposed sod boring and monitoring well is not
recommended as it would be difficult to reach the required depths and it may affect the
quality of the monitoring well construction.
2. Additional slotted casing in the monitoring well is recommended to allow for a more
representative sample and for fluctuations in the water table.
3. At least one confifmation sampling of all monitoring wells(showing no contamination using
the proper detection limits) is recommended.
4. All borings and/or monitoring wells must be completed by a contractor with a current C57
license. A copy of their current contractor's license, worker's compensation and contractor's
questionnaire must be on file in this office.
Permits are to be obtained for all borings and/or monitoring wells installed in the County
Per San Joaquin County Ordinance 1862.
S. A site specific health and safety plan and a site crap showing the location of any
underground UdHties, along with the application for permit, filled out in triplicate and
signed by the licensed contractor, and the $89.00 permit fee must be submitted to this
office before a permit can be issued.
If there are any questions contact Linda Turkatte,EHS, at (209)468-3442.
Jogi Khanna..,M.P.H.
Health,Officer
AFA/ft_/CotaudB* Program Manager
.
ental Health Division
r
VRWQCB
: Western Geo-Engineers -George C.
