Once final grade is established the monitor wells will be <br /> set into water tight, tamper proof traffic boxes slightly above <br /> grade and all remediation equipment, other than monitor wells, if <br /> needed will be either placed into tamper proof vaults and/or <br /> security fencing. <br /> (4) COMMITTMENT TO DEFINE SOIL AND GROUNDWATER CONTAMINATION <br /> LATERALLY AND VERTICALLY. <br /> Item 2 commitment to remediate soil etc. (See above) To <br /> delineate the plume using more borings and/or a soil probe <br /> survey, (in which soil , water and vapor can be analyzed) . Vertical <br /> and lateral extent of soil contamination has been determined and <br /> contaminated soil has been removed (from the tank area) . <br /> (5) COMMITMENT TO INSTALL AND OPERATE GROUNDWATER REMEDIATION <br /> EQUIPMENT AND MWs REQUIRED. <br /> If groundwater contaminant levels-`are found to be at or above <br /> the action levels in the shallow groundwater under the site. The <br /> appropriate extraction and or treatment plan will be submitted to <br /> RWQCB for comment and approval prior to installation and <br /> implementation. If air stripping or similar remediation is used <br /> Air Quality Control Board recommendations concerning emmissions <br /> will be followed. Water' wi l l be disposed of in accordance to <br /> Regional and Local agencies approval . <br /> (b) AGREEMENT THAT REMEDIATION OF SOIL AND GROUNDWATER WILL NOT <br /> INTERFERE WITH PROPERTY USERS DAILY ACTIVITIES ON BUSINESS <br /> ACTIVITIES (AND VISA VERSA) . <br /> John, ,you will have to address this as in item 2. <br /> (7) TIME SCHEDULE FOR INITIATING WORK, FINALIZING DATA IN REPORTS <br /> OR QUARTERLY REPORTS. <br /> The time frame as stands at the present is as follows. <br /> Submittal of initial assessment report for your review by June 14 <br /> with recommendation for further assessment if and/or remediation <br /> At present the groundwater monitoring will be monthly_ If <br /> remediation is required the monitoring will be modified to fit the <br /> remediation, with the involved agency approval . <br /> Sincerely, <br /> George L.
