petroleum. into
John Rutherford
* IDlrorlor
Environ msmlt9 Affaim
January 22, 1991
Mr. George Converse
Western Geo-Engineers
1386 E. Beamer Street
Woodland, CA 95695-9603
RE: Desert Petroleum #787
Tracy, California
Dear George:
The following information is provided to assist in the closure of
the subject site as required by the CVRWQCB.
1) The former underground storage tanks consisted of three tanks,
one 10,000 gallon, one 7,500 gallon, and one 5,000 gallon
` - capacity. All tanks were 1/4" single walled carbon steel.
Storage did not have secondary containment ox cathodic
protection. The age of the tanks is unknown, but upon removal
appeared to be in gond condition. The current and past
material stored was motor fuel gasoline. No unauthorized
product releases were detected. (A plot plan of the former
storage tanks is attached. )
2) Attached is a quarterly inventory summary report submitted
to the county agency for the quarter just prior to the tank
removal . No other inventories are available at this time. No
releases were noted and it is believed that the contamination
occurred from a long period of historical overspill when
product was delivered.
3) Attached is a report of a precision tank test prior to tank
removal, which reflects that the system was certified at the
time of testing. No major repairs or construction was done
prior ti: the tank removal.
4) The site has been an operating retail gasoline station for
approximately 30 years. Desert Petroleum purchased the
property in August 1979.
POST OFFICE BOX 1601, OXNARD, CALIFORNIA 93032 TELEPHONE(805)644.6784
