11
;Former Discovery Chevy January 27, 1998
Tracy.,California Additional ub urface Investigation Work Plan
Hand borings SA through SK were drilled around and in the former UST excavation by
i
Horizon personnel to a depth of approximately 8 feet bsg (see historical Figure 3 in
.Appendix C). Selected soil samples collected from the hand borings were analyzed and
i
reported concentrations of gasoline hydrocarbons with the highest concentrations in hand
borings SB and SK in the vicinity of the former product lines to the west of the former UST
excavation. The TPHgBenzene results in boring SB at 8 feet bsg were 4,370/16.5 ppm.
Boring SK was analyzed at 5 feet (6,110/15.7 ppm) and 8 feet (6,290/18.5 ppm) bsg (see i
Horizon Table 1 and Figure 3 - Work Area in Appendix C). Results of this investigation
were reported in Horizon's Report dated June 6, 1997. `
f
G
Quarterly groundwater monitoring has been performed at the site by GeoStrategies since I
March 1995. During that time, hydrocarbon concentrations in groundwater had been
reported primarily in monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2. The groundwater flow direction
has been consistently in a northern direction and groundwater levels have fluctuated between i.
10.9 and 9.25 feet bsg depending on the time of the year. Analytical tests of the
i
groundwater for MTBE and other oxygenates compounds have reported none of these
compounds present(Table.3 - Groundwater Data in Appendix C).
SCOPE OF WORK
i
The following work is proposed to assess and delineate soil and groundwater conditions as
related to gasoline hydrocarbons. Field methods are described in Appendix B.
II
Task 1
i
Obtain permits, prepare a site-specific safety plan, notify Underground Service Alert, and
schedule subcontractors.
i
u
i
ii
3001-13.wp 4 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. f
1
