4 <br /> HORIZ V ENVIRONMEN` AL INC. <br /> �r v Specialists in Site Assessment,Remedial Testing,Design and Operation <br /> t <br /> WORK PLAN <br /> FOR UST CAVITY EXCAVATION AND <br /> MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION <br /> at <br /> i <br /> Former Discovery Chevrolet <br /> 1615 11th Street <br /> Tracy, California <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> At request of Ms. Michelle Nokes of Winner Ford, Alameda, California, Horizon Environmental <br /> (Horizon) has prepared this Work Plan to conduct an underground storage tank (UST) cavity <br /> excavation and monitoring well installation at the Former Discovery Chevrolet in Tracy,California. <br /> The purpose of this proposed work is to remediate gasoline-impacted soil in the former underground <br /> storage tank (UST) cavity laterally and to groundwater, and to investigate the lateral extent of <br /> gasoline hydrocarbons in groundwater. <br /> The scope of work to be performed includes: Obtaining necessary permits from the County of San <br /> Joaquin;preparing a site safety plan; excavating gasoline-impacted soil from the former UST cavity; <br /> supplying a State-certified mobile laboratory to analyze soil samples; backfilling the excavation with <br /> clean fill; disposing of excavated soil;resurfacing the excavation area; drilling borings for construction <br /> of two groundwater monitoring wells upgradient and downgradient of the gasoline UST area; <br /> sampling and measuring the groundwater in the site wells; and preparing a report which presents field <br /> !� procedures, results, and conclusions.
