PACI FIC% '
ENVIRONMENTAL
GROUP INC. I
92 J' ? PH 2: 28
July 13, 1993
Project 310-01.05
MEMORANDUM
To: Ms. Mary Meays, San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS/EHD)
From: Mr. Brian Frus, Pacific Environmental Group, Inc. (PACIFIC
Subject: Interim Remediation Design
Unocal Bulk Plant 0788
8203 East 11th Street
Tracy, California
On behalf of Unocal Corporation(Unocal), PACIFIC has prepared this work plan
for implementing a remedial system at the site referenced above (Figure 1). A
work plan was requested by the SJCPHS/EHD in a letter dated May 25, 1993.
Interim remedial action was proposed for Unocal Bulk Terminal 0788 in a Reme-
dial Action Plan (RAP)prepared by PACIFIC dated March 18, 1993. Petroleum
hydrocarbon mass reduction was identified as the primary response action associ-
ated with soil-based and groundwater-based remedial objectives. The primary
response action was formulated into interim remedial alternatives by considering
various remedial technologies. Of these alternatives, soil vapor extraction(SVE)
was selected. This memo identifies the primary impact area and estimated influ-
ence area of the remedial system, provides an update on remedial activities, and
transmits construction drawings for the remedial system.
2025 Gateway Place, Suite 440, San Jose,California 95110 (408)441-7500 FAX(408)441-7539
620 Contra Costa Blvd.,Suite 209, Pleasant Hill,California 94523 (510)825-0855 FAX(510)825-0882
