' c
PUBLICWORKS
DEPARTMENT
ENGINEERING
DIVISION
e o
To: Ben Cantu
From: Keith Conarroe =
CC: Mike Brinton, Jim Podesta
Date: April 19, 2005
Re: Water Supply Evaluation for Airport Way-Yosemite Ave.
Annexation
This memorandum provides an. assessment of the City's ability to provide water for
the Airport: Way — Yosemite Avenue Annexation. The annexation encompasses
approximately 90 acres and includes approximately 92 dwelling units. The number
of new connections with the annexation is below the threshold of 500 units required
for a Water Supply Assessment or a Water Supply Verification.
Water for the existing dwelling units is provided by onsite wells. With the annexation,
the existing dwelling units would be offered the opportunity to connect to the City
water system. At present only the units on Yosemite, Fishback and Wawona (43
units) are adjacent to an existing water main. The remaining units located on Airport
Way (49 units) would require the installation of a water main before water service
could be provided.
The water supply for the annexation will be adequate with the addition of the surface
water supply and currently planned wells.
Water Suppiy
Future water supplies for development and new connections in the City of Manteca
will be provided by the South County Water Supply Project and future groundwater
wells. The South County Surface Water Supply and future groundwater wells are
addressed in the City of Manteca Water Supply Master Plan and the 2000 Urban
E-6
