Draft Environmental Impact Report Page IV.B-16
Forward Inc. Landfill Expansion
4 Planned Roadway Improvements
By year 2035 Austin Road is planned to be widened to two lanes in each direction between
FMariposa Road and some point between Arch Road and French Camp Road. The intersection
of Austin Road and French Camp Road is expected to have the same lane designations (one
approach lane in each direction)and control (four-way stop) as it does now. Arch Road would
P have two eastbound left turn lanes at its intersection with Austin Road, and the intersection of
Austin Road with Arch Road is expected to have a traffic signal. These improvements were
assumed in the analysis of cumulative development conditions, and the resulting lane
r+ configurations are shown in Figure IV.B-6.
Intersection Operations-- CumuIative Conditions Without the Proposed Project
Intersection operations during the AM and PM peak hours at the study intersections under
cumulative (no project) conditions were analyzed for this traffic study. Peak hour traffic
volumes that would occur at these intersections are shown in Figure IV.B-6, and levels of
" service are presented in Table IV.B-10. Detailed intersection operation calculations are
presented in Appendix C.
` Under cumulative (no project) conditions, all study intersections would operate at acceptable
t LOS (i.e., A, B, C, or D) during the peak hours, with the exception of Austin Road and Arch
Road, which would operate at unacceptable LOS F during the PM peak hour.
Table IV.B-10
2035 CUMULATIVE CONDITIONS WITHOUT THE PROPOSED PROJECT
F.
