'. Draft Environmental Impact Report Page IV.K-12
Forward Landfill Expansion
during transport of waste (Title 5 Health and Sanitation, Division 2. Solid Waste
Collection and Disposal,Section 5-2502).
• Whenever possible, the working face will be oriented to the downwind side of
Pg winds inds to helpreduce litter.
Implementation of these procedures would reduce the debris and litter effects of the project to a
less than significant level.
Mitigation Measure K.6: None required.
Impact K.7. Excavation, moving, and depositing soil for daily cover of the additional waste
disposed under the proposed project could create visible dust and haze in the vicinity of the
project. The additional intensity of landfill activities and larger area of the landfill that would
result from the proposed expansion could increase the release of dust particles, which could
incrementally affect the range and quality of views in the local area.
Fugitive dust control procedures to be included as part of the project are identified in Impact
IV.D.1. Implementation of these procedures and mitigation measures would reduce the dust
effects of the project to a less than significant level.
Mitigation Measure K.7: No additional measures are required.
l.y
