PERCOLATION TESTING
It is unknown at this time where purchasers of each Parcel will build their homes and therefore
septic system location, except for Parcel 16, which has been sold. The purchasers of Parcel 16 are
proposing to install their septic system 300 feet west of Banta Road. The fact that each parcel is
approximately 10 acres in size, percolation testing was conducted on the remaining Parcels in
+ logical locations. For example, Parcels 12 through 17 are adjacent to Banta Road. Percolation
testing was done approximately 200 feet from Banta Road, in-between the southern and northern .
property lines on the premise that purchasers of these parcels will probably build near this Road.
This premise also applies to the "interior Parcels" 10, 11, 18, 19 and 20, which front the proposed
access road, Adelen Avenue. These'test locations maintain sufficient distances between future
septic systems and domestic wells to be installed for each Parcel. Pere test locations were
determined with a 300 ft tape measure.
SSS§ 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5 The following-information describes the preparation of the percolation
test borings and the actual percolation testing: On September 2, 2005, one shallow perc test boring
was drilled with a truck-mounted Mobile Drill Rig on all 11 Parcels, along with the upgradient
and downgradient soil borings for groundwater depth determination and sampling. The sidewalls
of the shallow borings were scored with a pry-bar and the loose material removed. Two inches of
fine gravel was placed at the bottom and three-inch perforated PVC pipe was inserted in all of the
test borings.
/On September 7, 2005, at 0800 his,.perc test borings 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 were pre-saturated
! with 12 inches of water. 'On September 8, 2005, at 0625 hrs, perc test borings 10, 11, 18, 19 and
20 were pre-saturated with 12 inches of water. There was no standing water in any of the perc
test borings after each 24-hour soak period, as depicted in Table 1 below. Consequently, EHD
Pere Test Procedure##2 was conducted for all 11 perc test borings.
On September 8, 2005, at 0700 hrs, perc testing commenced for parcels 12 through 17. On
September 9, perc testing commenced at 0700 hrs for parcels 10, 11, 18, 19 and 20.
The last half hour of the tests were witnessed by David Van Dyne of EHD for Parcels 12 through
g
17. Mike Huggins of EHD witnessed the last half hour of the tests for Parcels 10, 11, 18, 19 and
20. The following Table summarizes and illustrates the pertinent data for each proposed parcel,
including septic system leaching structures, existing acreage, post soak period status and perc test
f results for the respective Parcels:
f
Page-5-
Chesney Consulting `
I
