t. . 5.4 Discussion of soil lith
ology as related to future onsite septic uses: The Boggiano clay loam
and Cogva loam has moderate permeability thus percolation rates were moderate as demonstrated by the (5fK)
passing of both shallow percolation tests. (See Appendix).
,k
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
1F
` 6.1 Site Map Showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation test
holes on the parcel: See Appendix.
6.2 The Minimum Number of Shallow and Deep Percolation Tests was Performed for Each
Parcel: Two shallow percolation test holes were prepared, one on each proposed parcel. No deep
percolation3`tests were necessary. '
6.3 Description of the Date, Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole,Including Depth
and Dimensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Water Used to Presoak(Minimum 12
Inches): The shallow test holes were excavated to a depth of 42 inches and 8 inches in diameter and
backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel" in accordance with County Standards. The shallow holes were
prepared by,Jake,Handel of Dillon& Murphy on February 27, 2008. On March 12, 2008 at 7:30 a.m.
the 24 hour presoak period was started. The holes were filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel
and at this time Environmental Health Department was notified of the start of the test.
i
6.4 Description of the Date, Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak Period
(Hole Still Intact, Hole Dry, Depth to Water Remaining in Hole, Etc.): On March 13, 2008 the two
shallow test,'holes were dry. Six inches of water was added and the holes were deemed suitable to
continue. Both shallow tests passed the minimum county requirements.
,r
6.5 The Test Conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02 (Correct Depth, diameter, 2"
gravel, 6" Water Refill, Correct Readings Recorded): The percolation tests conformed to San lL•5
Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02.
6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form(Including Readings) Was Provided With REHS Verification
Signature. ,The Rate Was Correctly Calculated Using the Last Reading: w
See Appendix for Test Result Form.
SHALLOW TEST HOLE PERCOLATION RATE
F { 1 15.625 MINJIN.
2 15.625 MINJIN.
6.7 Discussion of Any Potential Problems Predicted and/Or the Need for An Engineered g ed ar
Alternative Septic System: In this area, the soils are classified as Baggiano clay loam and Cogna
loam. Due to this classification and percolation rates, a standard septic system similar to those (
found on surrounding parcels would be recommended on test holes 1 and 2. Engineered
systems are riot recommended at this time.
4
! , k
i
3
i
cA02651Soi1 Report 0308
