f
31
7 : MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
4 ,
Management of Cultural Resources in the Proposed Project APE
All methods of cultural resources investigations conducted
in reference to the proposed 500-acre gravel extraction area were
negative, with the exception, as noted above, of the discovery of
the remains of a former gravel extraction plant. The research
potential of these remains has been fulfilled by the process of
systematic recordation. Accordingly, in reference to cultural
resources, the proposed project is considered eligible for a
negative declaration of impact upon cultural resources, which is
recommended, subject to the stipulations set forth in the
following sections of this report.
Limiting Conditions and Undiscovered Cultural Resources
The recommended management alternative presented in this
` document (a negative declaration in reference to cultural
resources) , constitutes the professional opinion of the writer
but is not rendered as a legal opinion. The cultural resources investigations described in this
report were performed using the degree of skill and care
ordinarily exercised, under similar circumstances, by qualified
archaeologists practicing in this or similar localities. No
other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the findings,
conclusions and professional advice presented in this report.
Conditions revealed by subsequent investigations or
excavations may vary with findings given in this report. If this
occurs, the changed conditions must be evaluated by a
professional archaeologist, and proposed project designs or
requirements adjusted or altered as may be necessary.
F Changes in applicable or appropriate standards may occur
from legislation, or due to the augmentation of knowledge
pertaining to regional prehistory or history.
