SITE AND VICINITY GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS <br /> The subject property is located within an agricultural/residential area of unincorporated <br /> San Joaquin County, west of the City of Stockton, California. Figure 1 shows the setting <br /> of the subject property (7.5 Minute United States Geological Survey [USGS] Topographic <br /> Series, WEST STOCKTON, California) and prominent features on the subject property <br /> are depicted in the site plan provided as Figure 2. Photographs of the subject property <br /> are provided in Appendix A. <br /> 2.3. CURRENT USE OF PROPERTY <br /> The property was utilized as family residential. A fallow open land is located southeast of <br /> the proposed parcel. At the time of the site reconnaissance, the site was occupied by a <br /> resident and not actively farmed. <br /> 3.0. REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> Geology and The subject property is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province <br /> Hydrology of California, a large, elongate, northwest-trending, asymmetric structural <br /> trough. The Great Valley Province has been filled with thick sequences of <br /> sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating a nearly flat-lying <br /> alluvial plain that extends from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the <br /> Klammath Mountains in the north. Western and eastern boundaries of this <br /> province are comprised of the California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada, <br /> respectively.
