The proposed facility will <br /> not place any burden on traffic, nor will:it result in objectionable levels hof noise, odor, <br /> dust, or dirt. <br /> The facility is designed and will. a constructed consistent with all safety guidelines, and <br /> will,.operate well`belaw established fhresholds and standards for human health <br /> concerns. The Nextel frequencies will not interfere with any police, fire.or emergency <br /> communications, or nearby televisions or radios.due to the separation in the frequency <br /> ranges utilized by Nextel and from those used by other communication devices. The <br /> Federal Communications Commission (FCC) controls'and regulates.the operation of all <br /> the.telecommunication equipment and devices to be used at this proposed facility. The <br /> proposed facility will conform with all FCC standards and regulations. <br /> The proposed facility will be a link to an important communication infrastructure. <br /> Individuals and business will be able to access wireless communications to stay in <br /> business, to expand their business; to provide personal convenience, or to strengthen <br /> personal safety and the ability to communicate on demand with business, government, <br /> family and/or friends. The facility will also enhance emergency g y comm ' <br /> unication <br /> opportunities, both for agencies using the applicant's system and for individuals during <br /> disasters or roadside vehicle breakdowns. <br /> Nextel will be in compliance with all FCC regulations regarding the signage at the <br /> facility. <br /> Benefits to the Community <br /> I <br /> The proposed Nextel facility will provide many benefits to San Joaquin County residents <br /> and businesses including the following: <br /> • 911 capability allowing motorists to summon aid and report dangerous situations. f <br /> Support for emergency services by providing wireless communications to <br /> paramedics, firefighters, and law enforcement agencies. <br /> • The ability to transmit data allowing for immediate access to vital information. f <br /> • A backup system to the land-line system in the event of power outages, natural <br /> or man-made disasters. <br /> • Communication capabilities in remote areas, enhancing the safety of travelers by <br /> allowing immediate access to emergency assistance. <br /> • Provide quality wireless communications including voice y <br /> , paging, digital data � <br /> capabilities for email, facsimile and Internet access. <br /> • Enhance the communications systems of residents who telecommute from their <br /> homes. <br /> In summary, the new Nextel facility will provide "State of the Art" wireless <br /> telecommunication services to the County of San Joaquin and become an important <br /> element of the County's infrastructure for future business and residential services. <br /> Y <br />
