i
1
Teichert Aggregates
i Agricultural Property Assessmcnt
r
General Background
Teichert Aggregates proposes to convert the subject parcels from the current
agricultural use to interim resource extraction, followed by reclamation to farmland. It is
proposed that the resources underlying the parcel be extracted on a phased basis, involving
the removal of approximately 100 acres of orchard the first year. The remainder of the
acreage will be excavated gradually over a 40 to 50 year period. After the first year no
more than 80 acres, more or less, will be disturbed by mining during a given year.
Following the removal of the aggregate material the land will be returned to agricultural
production. The land excavated during each phase will be reclaimed at the end of that
phase.
The purpose of our investigation is to determine the impact this interim use of the
property will have on agriculture in the vicinity and the County's agricultural industry.
The subject parcel comprising 820.0 acres of.lands is presently utilized for intensive
production of orchard crops. A summary of the use is as follows:
Project Percentage Project
Crops of Prosect Area Acres
Almonds 78.26% 690.0
Apricots 11.34% 100.0
Cherries 3.40% 30.0
TOTAL 820.0
f
I
r—t,x«d by: the McCARTY Company S/13/91
)3io•r.ried Ak—.11ural S—.ces
