Teichert Aggre4ates
Agricultural Property Assessment
Agricultural Enterprise
A review of cropping operations indicates the orchards are farmed in an average
manner consistent with farming practices in the area. The trees are in average to below
average condition, 425 acres are beyond their economic life. The fields that have passed
this threshold are numbers 3, 6 and 7 as shown on the "Area Crop"Map" in Section 3.
This conclusion is based upon information supplied by the present farmers. The
F overall almond yields are below average relative to the County, while the cherries and
1 apricots are above the County average. It is our opinion the orchard as a whole is a
marginally economic unit. Normally when this situation occurs the farmer would rotate the
crops by removing the aged acreage and replanting or changing crop rotation completely.
The cherries and apricots are economic due to the varieties planted and the yields
attained over the past few years. We anticipate these acres will remain economically viable
for five to seven years if there is sufficient water, (See next page). Further, we do riot
anticipate that these plantings will be impacted by the aggregate resource extraction
\L
activities for three to five years.
