Economic Impact of Teichert's Extraction Plan We reviewed the-property in view of Teichert's extraction plans and found that the impact to the County's agricultural income is minimal. Under the proposed extraction plan, an initial 100 acres will be removed from produciton and will serve as the site of the aggregate processing plant. When the plant is completed an additional 200 acres of orchard will be removed for aggregate extraction. Ponds for recycling water will also be constructed. This initial 300 acres will remain out of production for the life of the project. Additonal acreage will be removed from agricultural production in phases with material extracted as market conditions demand. Following extraction the lands will be returned to agricultural production as the phases are completed. It is estimated that land will become available for replanting seven to eight years after the initial removal of orchard for aggregate producition. The initial 300 acres will be replanted at the conclusion of the extraction project. li The impact to the County's agricultural economy based on these assumptions is barley measurable. Using the proposed plans, initially four tenths of one percent (0.4%) of the almond acreage will.be removed from production and only four one thousands �. (0.004%) of the gross income will be impacted; a situation that will occur under any .. circumstance due to the age and condition of the trees. Good "husbandry" would necessitate removal and replanting of aged. trees.
