April 21, 2006
NOA Project Number: E06022A
• Agricultural chemicals, including clofentezine, fenpropath-rin;diazinon, hydrogen cyanamide,
paraquat dichloride, azinphos-methyl, chlorpyrifos, lambda-cyhalothrin, and strychnine have
Fibeen applied to the subject property..
• One approximately 500-gallon underground fuel storage tank which has not been used in an
J
estimated 30 years is located on the property. The tank may have contained gasoline.
• One small house has been removed from the northeast corner of the subject property.
Underground infrastructure may remain at its former location.
3.3 Current On-Site Sources of Contamination
No above-or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified from
current uses of the site, except for the following:
FIThe subject property is actively used for agriculture. Three chemical mixing locations,a spray
material storage shed, and a storage area for empty chemical drums were identified. A mobile
flammable liquids dispenser tank was observed on the property.
• One approximately 500-gallon above-ground diesel-storage tank is located on the property. r
Though the tank is located within secondary containment,diesel-saturated soils were observed
4 outside of the containment area.
Debris was observed at the southeast corner of the property, including at least 30 tires, rusting r
jmetal equipment and appliances, and an inoperable vehicle. At least 15 partially-full drums were
observed, and oil staining could be seen at the base of some of these. One leaking drum was
located adjacent to the shed which houses the agricultural well.
• Oil staining and a strong smell of oil were observed adjacent to the barn near the residence.
1 a
The barn was labeled as a poison storage area.
• A large burn pile to with metal debris was observed on the western side of the property.
I Five irrigation wells, one domestic well, and one septic system are located on the subject
property. Of these, only four agricultural wells were observed during the site visit. Oil staining
FIwas observed around the casing of one agricultural well.
• Due to the date of construction of the existing residence on the subject property, lead based
paints and/or asbestos-containing materials may be present.
• A total of 11 pole-mounted transformers were observed on the subject property.:All were grey, F
appeared relatively new, and were not labeled with PCB-free stickers.
13
.44
F
