J. Watkins, PE
The San Joaquin Company Inc.
too Project Location: 7500 West Eleventh Street, Tracy, California
Project Description:
Site investigation work to improve the delineation of the lateral and vertical extent of the
subsurface affected by gasoline and diesel that leaked from underground storage tanks.
The scope of work includes investigation of the hydrostratigraphy and geochemistry of the
site by installation of a total of six (6) 2-in. diameter, groundwater-quality monitoring wells
that will be installed. in 8-in. borings, drilled using open-stem augers. One (1) 0.5 in diameter
push probe boring will be drilled.
The work performed will be in accordance with Work Plan for Extended Site
Characterization at Farmer Fueling Station, 7500 West Eleventh Street, Tracy, California,
which has been submitted to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Division (SJCPHS) for review and approval.
,r The site location and the location of the closest hospital with full-service emergency
treatment facilities are shown on Figure 1. Figure 2 is a plan of the work site.
,.. Known Hazards:
The principal hazards expected to be encountered on this project are those common to
geotechnical site investigations that includes drilling of borings and installation of
groundwater monitoring wells on land where the subsurface is affected by releases of fuel
hydrocarbons,.
General Hazards
Typical hazards associated with geotechnical drilling include the potential for: pinching
injuries of the extremities, entanglement of extremities and clothing in rotating machinery,
exposure to moderate noise from machinery, tripping hazards, and strains due to lifting heavy
objects.
S)C
