DEC has
notified the EHD that monitoring well MW-11 can not be found on Chrisman Road following
road repair work by the City of Tracy. This well must be located and properly destroyed.
Following receipt of a report of proper destruction of the wells and certificates for proper
disposal of all investigation-derived wastes, a closure letter will be issued.
Concurrently with the 30-day notification period for the CVRWQCB, the EHD will conduct a
30-day public participation period during which land owners adjacent to your site, and
especially those whose property has been impacted by your unauthorized release (UAR) will
have an opportunity to comment on the pending site closure; please provide the EHD the
contact information and names of all such property owners who have been, or may be,
affected by your UAR. With the list, please provide a one-page summary of the current and
projected future status of the plume of dissolved contaminants.
The EHD directs that all monitoring and sampling at this site be suspended while the site is
being considered for closure. If you have any questions, please contact Vicki McCartney at
(209) 468-9852 or by e-mail at vmccartney@smcehd.com.
Sincerely,
Victoria L. McCartney, REHS Nuel C.
