i
Y+.
`( PC : 3-17-88
t ER-88-1/GP-87-16/
ZR-87-35/SU-87-23
1 , Impact :
Irreversible loss of 67 acres of agricultural land, including
46 acres of prime soil .
Mitigation: Hone .
Findina_
Specific economic , social , or other considerations make
infeasible the mitigation measures or project alternatives
Identified in the Final EIR.
Supporting Facts :
The elimination of prime farm land is an unavoidable impact ,
but the project would be of economic benefit to the County
because it will provide needed housing. The project site
will involve the conversion of 46 acres of prime agricultural
land, which is 'considered negligible. Alternative locations
would involve the use of agricultural land currently not in
production or not impacted by urban development .
2 . Impact :
Development of the proposed project and buildout of' the study
area would provide the impetus for future conversions of
agricultural and open space lands .
Mitigation:
Prevent. lot splitting for parcels which are currently in
agricultural, production and are of sufficient size to be eco-
nomically viable .
Finding:
Specific economic , social, or other considerations make
infeasible the mitigation measures or project alternatives
identified in the Final EIR.
SU22ortinq Facts :
Only those agricultural and open space properties which are
within or adjacent to areas committed to rural residential
development will be affected. The intent is not to encroach
into agricultural lands but to recognize fragmented parcels
which serve a better purpose as residential homesites.
-19-
