«., Work Plan for Refined Plume Definition and Management of Floating Product-7500 W 11th St., Tracy, CA. Page.32
operated by a drilling contractor holding a C57 license issued by the California Contractors
State License Board. A California-licensed geotechnical engineer will log the borings.
.,. While the borings for the proposed LNAPL monitoring wells are being advanced, soil
samples in a continuous plastic liner by cutting an approximate 6-in length of the liner so as
to retain discrete samples from the subsurface at 5-ft. intervals. However, the engineer may
direct additional or alternate samples to be obtained if the conditions revealed by the boring
indicate such to be appropriate.
Following sample recovery, each sample liner will be cleaned externally, its ends covered
with Teflon foil and closed with tightly-fitted plastic caps secured with adhesiveless tape.
Each sample tube will then be labeled for identification, entered into chain-of-custody
- control and packed on chemical ice for transport to STL's laboratory in Pleasanton Califomia
within 24 hours.
ik- Each soil sample submitted to the laboratory will be analyzed for the following suite of
analytes.
Anal3qe Method of Anal
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons EPA Method 5030/8015
(quantified as Diesel)
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons EPA Method 8020A/8015
(quantified as Gasoline)
Benzene EPA Method 8020
Toluene EPA Method 8020
Ethyl benzene EPA Method 8020 _` c k
1, 6
Total Xylene Isomers EPA Method 8020
STL's laboratory is certified by the DHS to perform the soil analyses listed above.
8.3 Disposal of Drill Cuttings
Drill cuttings from the LNAPL monitoring well borings will be retained in 55-gal., close-
topped, steel drums. When full, the drums will be closed and placed in storage on the 7500
West Eleventh Street property until the results of analyses of soil and water samples are
available. When the analytical results are obtained, the soil in the drums will be classified
and, if clean, disposed as clean fill on the 7500 West Eleventh Street property. Soil affected
by components of fuel hydrocarbons will be loaded into a truck and shipped for disposal at
the Forward Landfill, a Class II disposal facility in Manteca, California.
sic
