4. Dust- large aerator fans blow dust from the inside of the houses which in turn creates a
fog of dust over the back portion of our property. This unhealthy dust has caused
respiratory problems within our family. Valley Air District has been notified several times
with our air quality concerns. There is no filter system on these fans.
In conclusion, we feel that the poultry farm should remain as it stands today and-should not be
-allowed to expand. The existing farm should be maintained to the best of their ability at it's
present capacity. There are properties available that are a%%ay from family homes that would be
better suited for a poultry farm of the size that they wish to build. We purchased our property
with the poultry farm's capacity as it is. Had the farm housed 700,000 birds, we would not have
considered purchasing our parcel in which to Build our family dream home. We are aware-of
San Joaquin Cou rty's right-to-farm policy, but an expansion of ANY size could result-in health
risks to ourselves.as well as neighboring families. The expansion would also decrease our!and
values. These are our family homes, homes where the elderly as well as small children live. We
feel that we should be able to live comfortably and enjoy a life free of any additional
inconveniences or discomforts. This project, if approved, would impact too many lives in our
neighborhood. We ask that our homes and our health be taken into consideration by the San
Joaquin County Community Development Department, as well as the by the property owner
William Huang, and the applicant, Richard Jenkins. Our fate is in your hands to make the right
decision on our behalf. Please ask yourselves, "Would I want to live by this poultry farm?" and
be honest with your answer. Life is short and all we are asking is to be able to be neighborly
with each other and live in peace.
