This map is included in the
Appendix.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
Aerial photographs of the Site dating from 1937 to 2012 were reviewed as follows..
1937 - The Site existed as irrigated pasture with a home site, corrals, and barns in the
southeast quadrant. Numerous oak trees are located on the property.
1957 - The Site continued as irrigated pasture. A portion of the northeast quadrant between
the railroad tracks and Newton Rd. had been parceled out of the main parcel. The
home site had been removed as had some of the corrals.
1963 - No significant changes are apparent.
1975 - No significant changes are apparent.
1984 - No significant changes are apparent although the cropping pattern may have been
changed to row crops.
2005 - All buildings had been removed by this time. The cropping pattern may have been
changed to row crops.
2012 - No significant changes are apparent.
4.0 SITE ASSESSMENT
Nelson Environmental observed the Site on June 13, 2014. Photographs of the Site are
located in the Appendix. The perimeter of the Site was observed, as were any major
features in the interior of the Site.
The Site consists of row crops and field crops with numerous oak trees located throughout the
property.
Two irrigations wells were observed. The well located along Newton Rd. is operational and
provides irrigation water to the entire Site. The power supply for this well is a pad-mounted
transformer located between Newton Rd. and the fence line. The other well is not operational
and only consists of a well head with no pump or motor. There is no power supply to this well.
Adjoining properties to the north, southeast, east, and west are industrial and commercial in
nature. Adjoining properties to the south, across the Stockton Diverting Canal are residential.
Nelson Environmental
103 Laurel Ave., Atwater, CA 95301
Office 209-769-7460 Fax (775) 254-3748
www.nelsonenviro.com
