With respect to additional water sampling for <br /> re-testing iron content and performing bacteria tests, I offer the <br /> following: <br /> IRON TESTING: <br /> The County has no set requirement for re-tests other than <br /> they must be representative of the source, chain of <br /> custody must be maintained by a certified lab, and 24 <br /> hours prior notice to the Health Department and our <br /> office is requested. <br /> BACTERIA TESTING: <br /> Each branch of the water distribution system shall be <br /> demonstrated to be free of bacteria. Samples shall be <br /> taken by a certified lab, from a sampling point near the <br /> terminus of each branch. The chlorine residual in the <br /> I system shall be verified by the lab to be zero at the <br /> time of the test. Additional samples may be desirable <br /> from the gravity and pressure tanks at the well site to <br /> facilitate identifying the source and extent of any <br /> bacteria contamination indicated in the distribution <br /> system.
