ADDENDUM NO. 1 <br /> 'i'ECHNIC:AL SPECIFICATT014S <br /> FOR <br /> WATER WELL (DOMESTIC) <br /> T-8. 1 GENERAL <br /> Furnish all mate:rlals, labor, equipment, transportation and <br /> services required to construct a minimum 22-inch rotax•y drilled <br /> gravel envelope well , using conventional or reverse circulation <br /> method. <br /> T--8. 2 MATERIALS FURNISHED BY CONTRACTOR <br /> A. The well caCinq shall be manufactured in accordance with <br /> ASTM Designation A--139 Grade B or approved equivalent which <br /> contains a minimum of 0. 200 of copper, to increase corrosion <br /> protection. Twelve ( 12) inch casing shall have a minimum one- <br /> quarter inch wall thickness and collars with a mininum of 5" <br /> in width (welded to the casing) . 'Twenty-tour ( 24) inch conductor <br /> casing shall have a minimun fire sixteenths inch wall thickness. <br /> The casing shall not have 1.10re than two ( 2) circumferential <br /> seems in 30 feet. Section ends shall. be Tmachined flat and <br /> perpendicular to pipe axis. <br /> B. Plug. !"he bottom of the cw.s_J ng string shall be fitted with <br /> a grounded closed shoe or plug . <br /> C. Gravel . Gravel shall be cor.;;eased of sound , durable , we <br /> ll <br /> rounded particles, cont,.ai ninLj I,o ceramic matter or other <br /> deleterious material . Drilling Fluid. The drilling fluid shall consist of a <br /> fresh water- hose mud with bentonite or other approved (approval <br /> shall be by the Engineer or County) high yield clays. Drilling <br /> with water alone, or a mixture of "Tater and unpr,:�cessed mud, <br /> clay or other materials, will not be permitted unless the <br /> reverse circulation method is employed . Drilling fluid <br /> properties shall be adequate to seal off the walls of the hole to <br /> prevent caving of the bore hale , and to permit recovery or <br /> representative samples of drA l cutti.ngs. The contractor shall <br /> maintain careful control with an hourly log of- ,+eight, viscosity <br /> and water loss . The use of USED drilling fluids or additives is <br /> prohibited . <br />
