The water from the existing water well <br /> is Manned from use for any :pork at the new well site. The <br /> contractor has to prove the Water quality to the Engineer and <br /> { County prior to dri.iling . <br /> T-8. 3 TYPE OF WELL DRILLING <br /> r The well shall. be drilled by the rotary hydraulic process wherein <br /> the wall of the drilled hole is held in place with a drilling <br /> fluid until washed out during the placement of the gravel or, at <br /> the option of the Contractor, by the reverse rotary drilling <br /> method. <br /> T--8.4 DRIMLING AND iNSTALLIN G CONDUCTOR CASING <br /> i <br /> The conductor casing shall be set in a reamed hole at least 30 <br /> t inches in diameter. The casing shall be securly anchored at the <br /> ground surface to prevent following. The conductor casing shall <br /> be firmly landed in an impermeable formation. It is specified <br /> L that the setting will be tc the approximate depth of 100 feet . <br /> All welding of conductor casing in the field shall be performed <br /> by welders qualified in accordance with the latest revision of <br /> section IX of the ASME Boiler Construction Code entitled "welding <br /> Procedures" , or by the American Weiding Society Standard <br /> Qualification Procedure. <br /> T-8. 5 DRILIING AND INSTALLING CASING <br /> The well casing shall be set in a -reamed }-sole (of at least 22" <br /> in the bore diameter) by approved neMhods in a manner that 4i1l <br /> insure no damage to t:►E casi ..ar during installation. Suitable <br /> guides or spacers (as approved by the Engineer or County) at nc <br /> greaten' than 60 feet on centers shall be provided, in order to <br /> center and hold the casing in its proper position until the <br /> grout and/or gravel pack is in place. The casing shall be <br /> suspended from ground surface and the bottom of the casing shall <br /> be at a sufficient distance above the bottom of the drilled hole <br /> to insure that none of the casing will be supported from the <br /> bottom. <br /> It is estimated that the setting will be to the approximate <br /> depths specified, however, the Engineer may order the setting to <br /> a greater or lesser depth if found advisable. <br /> f All welding of well. casing in the field shall be performed by <br /> welders qualified in accordance with the latest revision of <br /> Section IX of the A-SME Boiler Construction Code entitled "Welding <br /> Procedures", or by .he A,1arican Welding Soci e-.try Standard <br /> i Qualification Procedure .
