E i - t r sc
1 d y ii,
ADDENDUM NO. 1
"E" log and caliper loci shall be provided to the Engincer and
' the County at the Contract"s 4;pese. See section T-8 . 1 f .
T-8. 9 PERFORA` IOUS, WELL SCREE14
The well screen shall be manufactured in accordance with the
aforementioned casing requirements . The perforations shall ba
machine made, perpendicular to the axis of the casing, and of a
louver form with the aperture facing downward. The aperture size
. shall be three-thirty seconds ( 3/32) of an inch with thirty-six
(36) openings per lineal. foot. The minimun area of openings shall
F be 8 . 9 square inches per lineal foot.
T--8. 14 DEVELOPMENT AND TEST PUMPING
The Contractor shall furnish, install , operate, and remove a
deep- well turbine punp for developing and test pumping the well .
The pump shall have a ninimum 650 feet howl setting and shall
have a capacity to pump 1000 gallons per minute against a head of
650 feet. The Contractor shall provide an air line, calibrated
gage and air pressure to measure the elevation of the water in
the well . The Contractor shall provide acceptable orifices,
meters, or other approved devices to measure the flow rate.
Sand production shall be less than 10 parts per million within 30
: minutes after coSmencenent of pumping at a maximum rate of 1000
gallons per nirute . Sand production shall be nsasur ed by a
centrifugal sand separating Meter as described in Journal of
American Waterworks Association , Vol . 46,No. 2 , February, 19E4 .
The well shall be stepped developed commencing with a flow rate
of 200 gallons per ninute. Flow rates (developnent steps not to
exceed 15o gallons per :-1?rute) shall be gradually increased as the
wetter clears until the naxiI[ml:m Yate is reached in consideration of
reasonable drawdown . The drawdown shall not be allowed to reach
into the screened area , The pump shall be allowed to surge back
through the pump towns and through the perforated area frequently.
Development to continue until no sett.lenent of the gravel pack is
evident and sand content is less than the above limits.
Following development operations the Contractor shall perform a
corplete pumping test by pumping at a sufficient number of rates
to deternine the drawdown cu ve as determined by the Engineer.
Punping shall continue at each .rate for a sufficient length of
time to bring about a relatively steady water level in the well .
Upon a shut down of the pump at the end of the test the well will
remain undisturbed for five minutes and then the Contractor will
make a water elevation measurenent.' Flow rates to be tested are
to be approximately 20% , 40%, 60t, 800 , and 100% of the maximum
flow rate of 1000 gallon per minute. The Contractor will , upolt
R completion of testing, deliver a copy of development and testing
records to Engineer.
Depths for dray-down and re,,vpyy curves shall be nehsured and
recorded at the following frequency: once every minute for the
first. 32 minutes ; once every 2 minutes for the next 12 to 20
