Volume of gravel placed shall be equivalent to the <br /> volume calculated on the basis of the caliper log. The gravel <br /> I pack shall be placed with a grout pump and tremie tube, from <br /> the bottom-up. <br /> When the a:isembled casing is centered in the bore, drill pipe <br /> with close fitting plungers shall be inserted into the casing <br /> while circulating a stream of clear water as the gravel is placed <br /> f in the annular space between the casing and bore hole. Swabbing <br /> and circulating shall, be continued during the operation of <br /> placing of the gravel . <br /> When the gravel is all placed, swabbing and circulating shall be <br /> f continued until there is no further settlement of the gravel and <br /> the gravel has been washed clean. Upon completion of this <br /> operation and renoval of the swab, all rock, sand and foreign <br /> materials shall be removed from the casing. <br /> T-8 . 7 PLUMBNESS AND ALIGNMENT <br /> 4 <br /> The contractor shall guarantee that the well when completed shall <br /> be sufficiently straight and plumb to permit the free <br /> installation and operation of a pump regularly built for 12 inch <br /> i <br /> casing. (See T-8 . 10) The well shall be drilled in such vertical <br /> alignment that a line drawn from the center of the well casing at <br /> surface to the center at the bottom of the well shall not deviate <br /> from the vertical more the E inches in 100 feet of length and <br /> that any ;ends shall not be claser to the inside wall of the <br /> casing than 5 inches. <br /> The cas- ).0 plumbness and alignjT,,ent shall be checked (as directed <br /> by the Engineer) by using either a 40 font well dummy or pi <br /> g. <br /> If the well casiF►g does not' allow unencumbered passage of the <br /> dummy or pig, then_ the contractor *will correct the problem to <br /> the SatlSfaction of, the Engineer . <br /> T-8.8 LOGS AIND RECORDS <br /> The contractor shall keep ars accurate daily log and record of all <br /> formations drilled through and the depths at which changes in the <br /> formations occurs together with such other information as may be <br /> called for by the Engineer_ Drilling log samples shall be sampled <br /> at intervals not to exceed 10 feet in depth and at each change in <br /> formation. . The Contractor shall submit :sampling procedure to <br /> Engineer and County for approval before the begin of drilling. <br /> Samples of the formation found in various strata shall be taken <br /> by the Contractor and preserved in receptacles to be furnished by <br /> the Contractor.
