Monitoring well MW-3 was
reported to contain 900 micrograms per liter (µg/I) total petroleum hydrocarbons as
diesel (TPHd). This quantity represents an increasing trend in the over all
concentrations of TPHd documented in this well.
Prior to consideration for closure, a decreasing trend of contamination must be
established in the impacted well, MW-3. You are directed to continue routine quarterly
groundwater monitoring at this site, and sampling of MW-3, until directed otherwise by
this agency. Monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2, which have not had detections of
contamination, may be sampled annually. In addition, a calculation of contaminant mass
remaining in the soil must be prepared and submitted for review.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337. Please provide
forty-eight hours notice to SJC/EHD prior to any fieldwork.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan, Seni orRE S Margaret agorio, Supervl ing REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
cc: James Barton, CVRWQCB
John Lynch, Wright Environmental
