• Depth to Claypan**:
Site conditions of>40"are considered to have slight limitations
Site conditions of 20" to 40"are considered to have moderate limitations
Site conditions of<20" are considered to have severe limitations
Based on the published information, soils 193, 195,236 and 237 have hardpan from 20" to 40" from the
surface, which is considered to be moderate.
Based on the published information, soils 182 has hardpan at 40"to 60" from the surface, which is
considered to be slight.
• Depth to high water table:
— Areas with a high water table greater than 4 feet are considered to have only a slight limitation to the
application of agricultural wastes.
The depth to high water table varies from approximately 100' to 110' across the site'. It can be concluded
that there will be no impact to the ground water do to the conditions of farming at this site.
• Water intake rate, hydrologic soil group:
Soils classified as group D are considered to have moderate limitations
All soils at the site are classified into group D. The limitations are a result of the slow infiltration and
potential runoff from rainfall or irrigation.
This property is leveled and has irrigation pipelines, field runoff collection and return pipelines with
permanent and portable pumps installed to properly collect and recycle field runoff waters.
• Flooding:
The site and surrounding properties are within flood zone C. This zone does not experience flooding.'
• Permeability rate,inches per hour.
High solids waste and liquid wastes applications onto a site with a rate of<2.0" is considered to have
slight limitations
All of the soils have a published permeability rate of<2.0 inches'.
• Soil pH:
Site conditions of>6.5 are considered to have slight limitations
Site conditions of 3.5 -6.5 are considered to have moderate limitations
Site conditions of<3.5 are considered to have severe limitations°
The published pH for the site soils vary from 5.1 to 7.8, slights to moderate limitations.
The actual test results of soil samples range from 7.5 to 8.3,slight limitations to applications of
agricultural waste. Very high application rates of manure can lower soil pH.
Actual pH test results of soils at the site and in the immediate area, reference appendix IV-B, 1 &2
Soil#: pH Limitations
182 7.5-8.3 Slight
193 6.5 Moderate
219 6.1 Moderate
220 6.6 Slight
237 7.9-8.1 Slight
236 6.6 Slight
241 6.7 Slight
e*Nae that the original topography ofthe am is rolling hills. The DaSilva ranch has been leveled in the past. This leveling has exposed
and even art out or filled over the hardpan.Deep ripping has conditioned the profile to minimize the edea to the cleypan.
1.
