• Discussion of Percolation Test Results
The soils within the percolation test areas have demonstrated satisfactory percolation
rates for the use of septic systems utilizing leach lines, leach lines and sumps, or filter
beds in accordance with the requirements of the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department.
Because of the rapid percolation rates encountered, the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department will require an eight-foot separation from the bottom
of the dispersal system to ground water on Parcels 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Ground water
is anticipated to be encountered from 13 to 55 feet below ground surface; consequently,
no modifications to standard septic systems should be required for these parcels.
For Parcels 4 and 9, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department will
require a 20-foot separation from the bottom of the dispersal system to ground water
because percolation rates of 5 min/in or less were demonstrated (personal
communication, August 16, 2018). On Parcel 4, review of the topographic and ground-
water maps indicates that ground-water may be present from 20 to 50 feet below
ground surface at location P4, depending on the season. On Parcel 9, review of the
maps indicates that ground-water may be present from 19 to 35 feet below ground
surface at location P9, depending on the season. As a result, the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department may require the use of mounded septic systems or
• further investigation into ground-water depth for Parcels P4 and P9. No new
construction is anticipated.
Discussion of Septic System Sizing
Any future septic system construction should follow the San Joaquin County On-Site
Wastewater Treatment Systems Standards (2017) where applicable.
•
LOGE 1811 Page 9
