SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc (Live Oak) was contracted by Ram K. Shastri to <br /> conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for a new religious facility to <br /> be located at 3885 East Eight Mile Road, Lodi, California (Plate 1). <br /> The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report <br /> cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has <br /> been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study <br /> Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br /> use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of <br /> Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br /> Proposed Development <br /> The proposed project is a prayer hall for use by a maximum of 60 people. The project <br /> will involve the construction of a 2,880 square foot building. <br /> Site Description <br /> The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 059-140-23. The parcel is <br /> approximately five acres in size. The County project application number is PA- <br /> 1300121. The Site currently contains two residences, a workshop, a storage building, <br /> and a restroom building (Plate 2). One domestic water well is located on the Site. The <br /> southern residence and restroom building each utilize a septic system. A recent aerial <br /> photograph of the property is included as Plate 3. <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br /> map, is approximately 35 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 4). <br /> According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department <br /> (www.co.san-joaquin.ca.us), the subject property is zoned AL-5, limited agriculture with <br /> a minimum parcel size of five acres. This zoning designation "is intended to recognize <br /> and preserve areas that contain existing concentrations of small-scale agricultural <br /> operations and dwellings." <br /> LOGE 1325 Page 1 <br />
