Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, most septic systems in the
area utilize leach lines or leach lines and sumps; one permit indicated leach lines and
seepage pits. The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this report.
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected usage on the Site would be from the proposed walnut processing
facility. Septic system design should be based on the On-Site Wastewater Disposal
Standards (2003) or other engineering recommendations.
Ground Water Information
Depth and Gradient
Live Oak reviewed ground water elevation information available from the San Joaquin
County Flood Control and Water Conservation District to determine the ground water
levels near the Site. Data from the fall of 2010 and spring of 2011 were the most recent
available from this source. According to an analysis of these maps (Plates 5 and 6),
ground water elevation is 60 to 65 feet above mean sea level-, ground water flows
toward the north at a rate of four feet per mile or less in the vicinity of the Site. --
Given that the ground elevation of the Site is approximately 150 feet, the depth to water
below the Site is estimated to be 85 to 90 feet, depending on the time of year.
Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
The Soil Suitability Study is not intended to be an investigation into ground-water
contamination sources, and no such investigation was conducted. Many sources can
contribute to ground water contamination, including leaking underground storage tanks,
agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems, and storm water infiltration. Agricultural
activities and the use of septic systems in the area are known ground water
contamination sources with the potential to impact the Site.
On-Site Wells
Five water wells e0st on the Site, as depicted on Plate3.A None of the wells are
\._ Curren ratier(al. One well repair permit was found Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department. The permit, dated January 1977, is for the
installation of a new pump at the irrigation well operated by windmill (the easternmost of
the five wells). The permit is included in Appendix 4.
LOGE 1123 Page 3
