Site Visit
On July 29, 2005 IMFC performed a site reconnaissance which included a Site walk-
through/drive-through and photographing of the Site, as well as observing surrounding
areas. On the basis of this site reconnaissance as well as the review of available aerial
photographs, IMFC prepared the Site description. Photographs numbers 1 to 12 show
general conditions of the Site at the time of the site reconnaissance.
B-3. Current Site Description
The Site is located at the southwest comer of future De Anza Boulevard and Central
Parkway. The land was apparently used for agricultural purposes, but currently,
almost the entire parcel is being graded and prepared for eventual home building.
According to IMFC review of available documents, the previous land use was for
cultivation of wheat and row crops. Probably a network of buried pipes supplied
irrigation water to the crops in the field; however, since the soil has been completely
_ disturbed by grading operation, no evidence of any agricultural activities is apparent.
Currently, the footprint of various streets along with the installation of utility lines
could be observed at the Site. The dry bed of the Mountain House Creek runs in a
northeasterly direction just south of the parcel. The review of aerial photographs
showed that there have never been any improvements on this parcel.
During the site reconnaissance, IMFC staff did not observe any on-site prominent feature
or any indications of any spill on the parcel to suggest existence of any potential
environmental impairment to the Site.
B4. Storage Tanks
IMFC did not observe evidence of potential underground or aboveground storage tanks
(i.e. pipes, vents, pumps, concrete foundation, stains) at the Site. The Site is not listed
as an underground or aboveground storage tank site with the State of California.
6
