Sanborn Company Fire Insurance Mates
Historical Sanborn fire insurance maps are detailed fire insurance maps that were first
published in 1867 by the Sanborn Company of New York for cities throughout the United
States; and were regularly updated until about 1950. These maps document the various
businesses and uses in a given area so that risk may be determined for a particular site
which needs insurance. They are useful for determining potential environmental risk for
a given site, which may result from historical activities on the site or adjacent properties.
Sanborn maps of the Site and vicinity were not available for review.
9
