As I
indicated to you during our recent meeting, my wife and I own the four lots
currently in development at the southwest corner of the proposed"Lockeford
Vistas" subdivision. My concerns are as follows:
1. The May 31, 2006 traffic study does not adequately address the
proposed 60 foot roadway and specifically its intersection with
Tully Road at the southwestern side of the development. This is an
area of significant foot traffic by children attending the Lockeford
Elementary School across the street. Because of the anticipated
heavy use of this area by school children, I would be reluctant to
leave this roadway and intersection vague as to detail. What
impact will the proposed 60 foot roadway and intersection have on
the school? on children walking or riding bikes to school? on
vehicular traffic to/from the school or community facilities. I don't
believe that merely saying the intersection will be built"to county
standards" is an adequate response. Appropriate planning for the
road and intersection in close proximity to the elementary school
needs to be accomplished before the subdivision is approved. In
that light, the proposed intersection and roadway merit
00056073.WPD
